Getting High at work

What is the easiest way to get high at work? Really scary ladders of course!

This is a house we washed the windows and skylights in San Luis Obispo, ca. This is a very grand skylight custom-built and at unique angles to the floor so special equipment is required. The ladders we use have independently adjustable feet on them that allow for un-even positioning.

Window Cleaners use special ladders with “stand-offs”   ( seen just below my arm with the blue wraps on them) that help us to be back away from the window so we can work. To wash a window you need room away from it instead of flat on the wall. The ladder stand-offs can be removed and re-positioned on the ladder body as well because they are custom-made to fit into the open holes on the sides of the ladder but sometimes they are just in the way like on this giant skylight.  The top of the ladder was just barely able to touch the beams between the glass to hold position and you only need a little bit of metal touching the beam to be secure the rest was cranking your neck and squinting your eyes from the sun, also avoiding the falling water drops from the squeegee being just above your face. This skylight probably took an hour and a half to wash as the ladder needed to be re-positioned many times and I had to descend and ascend many times. The ladders we use are very light for their size and strength made from high-quality aluminum with the ability to extend nearly twice their height. Ladders like this can cost over $400 each but good equipment is worth it when doing this type of work. What a job washing windows can be  sometimes I wish i was  behind a desk instead but when you finish a day washing glass you know you have worked a real job! And it is very rewarding.
